Our client was drawn toward cooler color tones such as blues and greys.
Our Southside Park design, located in Vienna, VA, was a blank slate waiting to be filled with curated pieces that accentuated the space's extraordinary amount of natural light. Our client was drawn toward cooler color tones, such as blues and greys. In each room, we started with the upholstery first as the focal point of the space. The kitchen's grey cabinetry was already installed, so adding a comfy grey sectional with a subtle blue tone, was the perfect pairing in the adjoining great room.
Bringing warmth into this specific space was also very important
Bringing warmth into this specific space was also very important in order to balance the cool tones throughout. We added a fantastic custom extension to the existing marble chef's island in the kitchen. The wooden countertop addition adds warmth to the space as well as seating that was previously not available in this Vienna, Virginia, home. Another way we added warmth to the space was with brass details in the pendant lights over the island and the sconces over the kitchen sink. We toyed around a bit with the number of scones, going back and forth with whether two or three made the most sense. We ultimately decided on three because it filled and balanced the space so well and also offset the two pendant lights over the island beautifully.

The living area in the front of the home is a light and bright space surrounded by windows. Keeping the natural brightness in mind, we chose light fabrics for the sofa and chairs. We also incorporated end tables the client previously owned and wanted to use in the room.
We made the lower level of the home a more masculine-influenced space with a navy velvet sectional sofa and cognac leather ottoman. This area is perfect for cozy movie nights and intimate group gatherings

We love the powerful and striking tiger print wallpaper
Our favorite spaces from this project are, without a doubt, the two baths. Both were an opportunity to go bold with color and wallpaper choices. We love the powerful and striking tiger print wallpaper in the main floor powder room. However, the ensuite bath on the upper level of the home has a very different vibe. We wanted to make this space softer and more inviting for everyday use. The wallpaper is a lovely shade, almost a robin's egg blue, falling within our client's chosen color palette and perfectly silhouettes the luxurious soaking tub.
We love all of the bold colors and design features of this space. It was so fun to work on this Vienna, Virginia, project and see each area come to life. We can't wait for our next project reveal and will make sure to share it will all of you! What’s your favorite feature of this project? Let us know in the comments below!
